Steven's comedy finds the humor in everyday life without ever being mean-spirited — it's the kind of storytelling that makes you laugh at yourself first, rooted in finding joy in a world that takes itself too seriously.

On stage, he mixes classic, clean, observational humor with the warmth of a guy who's lived a little, turning ordinary moments into big laughs that the whole room can share.

Steven David Lampley didn't choose comedy. Comedy ambushed him.

It started in high school, when he was cast as William Shakespeare himself in The Life and Times of Shakespeare, a full blown comedic parody of the Bard. Steven played Shakespeare. The audience laughed. Loudly. And Steven thought, "Oh. I like this. I like this a lot."

Then life did what life does. It called, he answered, and comedy had to wait in the hallway.

Years later, on a whim, he walked into an open mic at the legendary StarDome in Birmingham, Alabama, the same stage that has seen the best of the best in stand-up comedy. He did his set. The staff did something they almost never do. They asked him to come back.

Then life, again, reared its very large, very responsible head. Life, divorce, yada, yada, yada. The real adult stuff. Comedy went back on the shelf. Until now.

Steven has stormed back onto the stage with a recent appearance at The Comedy Catch in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Clean, relatable, and proof that timing is everything, especially when you wait 40 years to use it.
